550hp Supercharged Special Edition
Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids Michigan will put together 20 of these high performance bad boys putting out 550hp, with as much attention given to the handling as the power output.
Berger, known for delivering performance bow-tie’s through the past few decades, has put together a $20,000 package for the Camaro 2SS RS models, with a supercharger force-feeding oxygen through the 6.2L V8, a chambered stainless steel cat-back exhaust system aids the respiratory process, and the reprogrammed ECU management system ensures everything comes together in perfect harmony.
“I have never seen enthusiasts who are as passionate about their automobiles as Camaro and Chevy performance car owners. My first car wwas a Camaro and I have owned a few of them over the years. We sell a lot Corvettes and SS models of other Chevrolets, however, the Camaro has always held a special place in the hearts of our loyal customers and our dealership.” – Matthew Berger, fourth generation Berger President.
Utilizing Muscle
Other additions aiding in the exploitation of the supercharged LS3 include a Hurst billet/plus 2 short throw shifter to navigate power through the manual transmission to the Pirelli P Zeros wrapped around the Forgeline lightweight 3-piece 20” x 10.5” alloy wheels in the rear. A slightly larger wheel also sits up front in the form of a 20” x 9.5”, and all wheels feature custom SS logo centers, the car also sits a little lower on a suspension system that has been tweaked with new progressive rate springs, and improved urethane bushing appear throughout the underside of the pavement-pounder.
“As the first true performance successor to the 60’s Chevy ‘pavement-melter’ musclecars, the 5th generation Camaro’s retro styling cues and huge performance increase over the previous generation, form the perfect platform for us to recreate and recall the great history behind the Bowtie brand’s most popular musclecar. The new Berger SS Camaros pay homage and are dedicated to those who owned, now own or just dream of owning a car like this. Our goals for this project were to emphasize the highest quality in all areas, choosing proven performance improvements wisely…” – Matthew Berger
Other appearance upgrades include custom painted rally stripes, custom painted black ‘Big Block’ tail panel, blacked-out front grill, and retro prism blue bowtie logos front and rear.
