2010 435hp Roush 427R

A supercharged and intercooled 4.6L V8 pumps out 435hp delivering 400lb-ft of torque to the real wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission, Which really, isn’t that great considering you’ve got the 2010 Shelby GT500 laying down 510 tire burning lb-ft of torque from a 5.4L 540hp V8. I only bring the Shelby up because, well, it’s cheaper.

Roush Quality

Why would you pay that extra money the Roush, the only reason would be the superior quality and performance Roush continually deliver vehicle after vehicle, and Roush claim this is the best suspension package they have ever developed for the Mustang. Their suspension package is usually what puts them head and shoulders above their competition, and what use is the power without the control. With the suspension upgrade, this 427R incorporates a wheel hop reduction kit, the full kit includes front struts, rear shocks, front and rear springs, front and rear sway bars, and jounce bumpers, keeping the high performance Cooper Zeon rubber wrapped around the 18” wheels, or option 20” wheels, firmly on the ground.

“I’ve driven every generation of ROUSH Mustangs and there is no question that these cars keep improving over the years. Our engineering teams never sit back and say,’That’s it. We are done working on this now.’ They continually refine the components, whether it is in the engine, suspension, or any other part of the car. They are always thinking and testing and improving and creating the ultimate Mustang for the muscle car enthusiast. I think that there is no doubt that the ROUSH 2010 Mustang is our finest effort yet,” Roush stated

Value for Money?

I do not know, because even with all their infinite wisdom, they have not as yet invited me to test drive the 427R, or any other Roush Mustang for that matter. When they do, be sure, I’ll let you know whether I feel the loaded $55,000 427R is worth the extra coin over the $48,000 Shelby.
