Enzo Replacement
The new Ferrari in the works will be smaller, lighter, and more fuel efficient than the Enzo and may offer a distinctive note – setting it apart from modern Ferraris, with the use of a twin-turbo’d V8. Ferrari hasn’t utilized turbo power since the 1987 F40.
Enzo V12 Power from V8
It’s rumored Ferrari engineers are looking to introduce a twin-turbo direct injection V8 to power the F70, a similar set up was used on the F40 but Ferrari were never completely happy with the time it took the turbo to release the 426lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. With variable-vane turbos’ and new technology out there we’re sure they will be able to develop a powerplant worthy on the Ferrari logo and meet the enthusiasts’ expectations.
Ferrari claim they will be able to cut curb-weight by approximately 800lbs, thus deliver a three-second 0-60 time and top they expect the engine to deliver Enzo power with a top speed upward of 230mph.
