4 hours to charge. That was the promise of the BMW owned company. Well the first 23 customers forking out the ridiculous $850 price tag for the 1yr lease are finding that it’s actually taking 23 hours to completely charge.
Mini hope to have all 450 EV’s delivered by the end of the month. The cars are being delivered with a 110v charging cable not the 220v cable the 4 hour promise was based on. The 220v cable is still pending the UL (Underwriters Laboratories) compliance approval. Mini say this issue should be resolved by the end of July and all customers will have their new cable by that time. The first month payment will also be waived.

If you travel 60 miles round trip to work every day, which I did until recently, you’ll get 2 days out of a charge with its 150 mile expected range. Every 3rd day you’ll have to look like a bum by thumbing a ride to work, or call work claiming your car wont start . Then by Saturday you’re dead again so there goes your weekend social life! But. Let’s face it, if you are gullible enough believe that by paying $850 every month you’re making that huge a difference to the o-zone layer, trees, and baby rabbits, then you probably don’t have a social life and this stupid car ain’t going to assist you in the development of such obviously needed skills either.
$850 a month lease. Obama better start putting aside a recovery/stimulus fund now so we can bail out these entitled liberal hemorrhoids before the end of the year.
