With A Volvo Engine, Do You Really Need ABS?

The Brits can be little on the strange side at times, and when you first hear that British sports car manufacturer Noble dropped a Volvo engine in their new M600 you could be forgiven for chuckling to yourself, but the lads out of Leicestershire, England have delivered a 650 horsepower mechanical beast with exactly that, a twin-turbo’d 4.4L V8 Volvo powerplant that can propel the 2810lbs RWD to 62mph in 3 seconds from a standstill, producing 618lb-ft of torque and achieve a top speed of 225mph.
Think that sounds fun? Well, add in the absence of ABS and the party is really starting to kick off, throw in a on/off button for the Traction Control system and you can break out the glow sticks because things are about to get crazy.
The Top Gear clip here compares the Noble M600 to the Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lambo, Porsche, and Mercedes that fall within the comparable price bracket, and while at first that may also warrant another chuckle, The Stig’s lap will put an end to that too. The Brits pull it off, even if it is in their own strange way.
