Roger Penske has come to an agreement with General Motors to purchase the Saturn brand. The agreement saves more than 350 car dealers and 13,000 jobs at Saturn. Some good news for an industry that is taking a few hard body shots right now.
“Saturn has a passionate customer base and outstanding dealer network”, Penske said in a statement on Friday. Penske base their success on customer service, dedicated to gaining customer and seeing the customer as ‘Human Capital’.
For nearly 20 years, Saturn has focused on treating the customer right. We share that philosophy, and we want to build on those strengths.
Penske Automotive Group is the second largest publicly-traded automotive retailer in the United States as measured by total revenue. As of December 31, 2008, they owned and operated 156 franchises in the United States and 148 internationally.
