Saab Owners Rally Outside GM HQ

That’s Right! All 22 of Them

Detroit was not prepared for the demonstration organized by SAAB lovers that descended upon its streets today. The convoy rolled in windows down, radios cranking out Twisted Sister’s ‘We’re not gonna take it’, and all eleven of their ‘SAVE SAAB’ posters a wavin’.
This quirky but ardent bunch of fruit loops made their way from states as far away as Kentucky, Iowa, and New Jersey (I always wondered where these people lived – makes sense now), one was even introduced as hailing from parts unknown.
We’re not even sure if GM execs noticed them down there, but by-golly if they had, I’m sure they would have thought twice about letting the Swedish car brand die. The crowd repeatedly belted out the Twisted Sister lyrics from behind those moustached upper lips from early morning to mid-afternoon;

oh You’re So Condescending,
your Gall Is Never Ending,
we Don’t Want Nothin’, Not A Thing From You….

Until a passer-by pointed out that they did, in fact, want a thing from them, more SAABs. As the defeated throng dispersed, heads hung low, a window opened from the GM building and an individual who shall remain nameless at this time, summed up their days efforts by finishing the verse for them;

Your Life Is Trite And Jaded,
Boring And Confiscated,
If That’s Your Best, Your Best Won’t Do….

If you’re a closet SAAB owner, or were actually there today, why not give yourself goosebumps by checking out the Twisted Sister classic and relive the 80’s attitude of Dee Schneider below.

Totally, mostly made up and inspired by image seen over at TTAC, we’re thankful the photographer had his wide-angle lens on hand.
