Here’s a look at the Subaru Hybrid Tourer Concept as seen at the L.A. Auto Show last week.
Power for this most recent concept is supplied by a horizontally-opposed 2-Liter Boxer engine featuring a turbocharger and direct injection. Subaru’s Lineartronic (CVT) transmission is mated to a new Hybrid system that incorporates Symmetrical AWD. The powertrain features a unique gas/hybrid two-motor system that also utilizes Lithium-ion battery technology.

Subaru Future

Subaru tell us that the front end points the way for their new corporate image and the rest of the car indicates the general design impressions we’ll see in the future, but don’t expect to see the gullwing doors on any upcoming models, those were simply added to provide the best view of the interior.
As you can see, with no need for a drive axle the Japanese Auto-maker are able to offer a flat floor with more space and comfort for the rear passengers.
