In All Cities Nationwide

The UK Government is pushing for a 20mph speed limit in cities nationwide. The program would supposedly be aimed at calming traffic and improving road safety, which is all well and good until you hit the last sentence of the auotcar.co.uk article.

When Government Is Involved – You Lose Money

And that last sentence reads – ‘The government is also proposing that average speed cameras be used in residential areas to enforce the limits.’
The government want to make money from the last 37.6 mile of road left in their country not already watched over by the big brother cameras.
We were also surprised to read on autobloggreen the assumption that drivers would save a few gallons of fuel, when clearly driving at 20mph would waste fuel. Though after some thought on the matter and realizing autobloggreen must know top fuel efficiency is usually reached in most cars somewhere between 40 and 55mph, then we worked it out, they must have come to the conclusion the British will opt to walk rather than crawl in traffic.
